A Practice Rooted in Trauma-Focused Care

At Collaborative Psychology Center, we specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma—from single events to chronic or cumulative stressors. We understand that trauma can show up in many forms: from interpersonal violence or combat exposure to family dysfunction, systemic oppression, or identity-related stress.

We are more than trauma-informed—we are trauma-focused. This means we don’t just acknowledge trauma; we help you actively engage with it in a safe, structured, and supportive way.

If trauma continues to shape how you see yourself, relate to others, or navigate the world, we are here to help you begin the work of healing.

What Trauma Work Involves

Trauma often lives beneath the surface—in avoidance, in reactivity, in self-doubt, or isolation. It may affect sleep, mood, relationships, or your ability to feel safe in your own body.

Avoidance is a natural survival strategy, but it can also keep you stuck.

Therapy creates space to gently approach what you’ve been turning away from—at your pace, with clear structure and support. Our team uses evidence-based treatments such as:

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Prolonged Exposure (PE)

  • Written Exposure Therapy (WET)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for trauma and anxiety

  • CBT for nightmares (CBT-N) and insomnia (CBT-I)

Our clinicians are considered nationally recognized and certified providers in several PTSD treatments, meaning we have participated in advanced training and consultation through reputable training programs to best serve our client’s needs.

Who We’re a Good Fit For

Our practice is a good fit for individuals who:

  • Are ready to face what’s keeping them stuck

  • Want to build practical tools to manage anxiety, trauma symptoms, and relationships

  • Are interested in understanding how past experiences affect present patterns

  • Are open to working collaboratively, even when the process feels difficult

  • Want support in navigating big life changes with clarity and care

You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need to be willing to start.

Inclusive, Identity-Affirming Care

We welcome individuals of diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. Our clinicians are experienced in working with clients who have faced trauma and stress related to identity, including sexual orientation, gender identity, race, culture, or religious background.

We also have extensive experience working with Veterans, including survivors of combat trauma and military sexual trauma (MST). We understand the unique challenges and strengths that come with military and post-military life, and we provide care that respects that context.

We approach therapy with a strengths-based, culturally aware, and socially conscious perspective. We value the impact of identity, relationships, community, and systems on individual wellbeing, and we are committed to affirming care that recognizes the role of diversity and social justice in healing. Across modalities, our goal is to support clients in developing practical skills, deepening insight, and making meaningful, lasting change.

You Are Not Alone

Trauma work is hard. It’s also some of the most powerful and transformative work you can do. Whether you're recovering from PTSD, healing from long-standing pain, or building a new relationship with yourself, we're here to walk that path with you.

If you’re ready to explore what’s been holding you down—and take meaningful steps toward living with more clarity and connection—we’re ready to help.

PTSD-Focused Services

At Collaborative Psychology Center, we offer a range of services tailored to individuals and couples impacted by trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Whether you're navigating the effects of a single traumatic event or long-term cumulative stress, our team provides care that is structured, compassionate, and grounded in research.

Individual Therapy for PTSD

We provide evidence-based trauma therapies—including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and CBT for PTSD—to help individuals process trauma, reduce distressing symptoms, and reclaim a sense of safety and connection. Therapy is collaborative and paced to meet each client's readiness.

Couples Therapy and Trauma Recovery

Trauma doesn't just affect the individual—it impacts relationships. Our clinicians offer trauma-informed couples therapy to help partners rebuild trust, improve communication, and navigate the relational effects of PTSD together. This work may take place alongside or after individual therapy, depending on each couple’s needs.

Psychodiagnostic Assessment for PTSD

We also offer comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments to clarify whether PTSD is present, explore overlapping symptoms (such as anxiety, depression, or dissociation), and guide treatment planning. These assessments follow best practices in trauma evaluation and can be useful for clinical insight, treatment recommendations, or documentation purposes.

If you or a loved one are experiencing the ongoing effects of trauma, our team is here to support your healing with expertise and care.
